The Ford Zephyr, says you something? It is a saloon that was built in England in the 1950s to the early 1970s and was also sold here. Even the National Police drove it. A little longer ago, in the late 1930s, there was also a Lincoln Zephyr that was very modern and streamlined for its time. And now the Zephyr is back. Not here, but in China, where they even sell a Ford Escort. There the historic name ends up again under the flag of Ford’s luxury brand Lincoln.
The new Lincoln Zephyr gets a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The interior will have four relax modes with an air freshener and 128 colors for the mood lighting. But check out the huge screen on the dashboard. We also like this Zephyr for the Netherlands; Mondeo badge on and go.
Old names are hip
It is not the first time that a car brand has dusted off a name. Ford previously returned with the Puma for the Dutch market. The sporty coupe became a crossover. Mitsubishi came back with the Eclipse, which of course also became a crossover. So we can name a few more.
