With the premiere of “The gray man”, Netflix’s most expensive film, the production directed by the Russo brothers and starring Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans and Ana de Armas —based on the play of the same name by Mark Greaney —, reminds us that this is not the first time that the streaming platform shows an adaptation taken from the pages to the big screen. “The Irish”
In 2019, Netflix brought to the screens the adaptation of Charles Brandt’s book titled “Jimmy Hoffa: Case Closed”, a work based on the author’s conversations with Frank Sheeran, also called “The Irishman”, a thug who belongs to the Italian mafia and a key witness in one of the most famous disappearance cases in the United States: the case of Jimmy Hoffa. The three-hour film marked the meeting of the great legends of cinema, such as Al Pacino, Roberto De Niro and Joe Pesciunder the direction of Martin Scorsese.
“Letter to the King”
Series of six episodes that has been adapted from the Dutch novel by Tonke Drangt. It fits very well in the category of adventures with touches of fantasy and action for the whole family. The production tells the story of a young knight who, although he is still learning his job, embarks on an important mission through the three kingdoms, to deliver a secret letter to the king of his nation while being caught up in a prophecy that heralds the rise of a hero capable of defeating a ruthless prince who threatens to plunge the world into shadows.

“Lupine”
The adventures of the French thief were born from the imagination of Maurice Leblanc. The first story was published in 1905, under the title of “The Arrest of Arsene Lupin”. Decades later, it would become the series that triumphs throughout the world.
“The Umbrella Academy”
Gerard Way, the well-known vocalist of the band My Chemical Romance, published in 2007 the first comic of “The Umbrella Academy”, the story of a peculiar academy headed by an eccentric millionaire who adopted seven children with superpowers, who had been born in a strange event where 43 women from all over the world gave birth at the same time and without being pregnant. The adaptation to a Netflix series recently premiered its third season.
