They were stopped by the railway police
Genoa – They distracted passengers in order to rob them. The railway police of Liguria arrested two foreign citizens aged 31 and 29, accused of several thefts on board trains circulating in the region. They are two homeless offenders.
Most of the thefts have been committed on travelers’ luggageusing the victim’s distraction technique: one of the two thieves attracted the passenger’s attention, while the accomplice, placing himself behind the victim, robbed him, leaving immediately.
The other modus operandi consisted in replacing the baggage with another one of the same type and size, in such a way as not to arouse suspicion and to have time to disappear. The two are also accused of a theft in the reception of the Hotel Gallesin front of the Principe station, where they allegedly stole a bag and personal effects from a hotel customer.
