The series of ys It started in 1987, and is still going strong today. Although this JRPG is not as popular as Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest, Nihon Falcom's work has a fan base passionate about these titles. Originally, Ys X: Nordics arrived in Japan on September 28, 2023. Now, through a trailer, it has been confirmed that this installment will be available in West via Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5 and PC at some point in the fall 2024 season.
One of the biggest novelties of Ys X: Nordics It is the introduction of naval exploration and combat, something never seen before in the series. This installment introduces us to two protagonists, known as Adol and Karja, who will have to undertake a naval voyage, with the aim of determining the fate of Obelia Gulf and its people. The interesting thing is that you can change characters in the combat system, and explore all the combinations that this allows.
Considering we're talking about a massive JRPG, it makes sense that localization will take some time. However, it is strange that nowadays, where series like Persona, Shin Megami Tensei, Like a Dragon and other very famous Japanese properties already have global releases, Nihon Falcom and NIS America continue publishing their games first in Japan, and then in the West.

Editor's Note:
Although I am a big fan of JRPGs, the Ys series is one that I have avoided for a long time. There is something that fails to catch my attention, although I hope to give this franchise a chance in the future. Maybe the tenth installment will be the one that turns me into a fan.
