They complained to the prosecutor's office about the Russian head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. He wished the author of the complaint to “get cancer” and came under scrutiny

The head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Volgograd Region, Nikolai Lyubavin, wished cancer to the family of a colleague who complained about him to the prosecutor’s office because of the possible promotion of his interests in the department. After these words, which sparked a scandal, an investigation was initiated against the major general.

Part of the recording of a conference call of the Main Directorate of the Volgograd Ministry of Emergency Situations has leaked online. The editors of the publication V1.Ru reported that these shots were sent to them by a reader on condition of anonymity. The date of the meeting is unknown. What was said before these words is unknown, but in the available footage Lyubavin, in a conversation with his subordinates, talks about a complaint written against him to the prosecutor’s office by an unknown colleague.

“They wrote that Otkritie Bank lobbied, the prosecutor’s office carried out an investigation, that his wife works in the bank, that Lyubavin receives preferences and everything else. Whoever wrote this, first of all, I say again, so that his hands wither and the whole family gets sick with cancer. I will not regret saying this, because, indeed, when people write their infantile schizophrenic thoughts, they do not understand what they are doing,” says the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in a calm voice.

Lyubavin was caught “receiving cashback” due to transfers of employee salaries

Unnamed senior official of the Volgograd Ministry of Emergency Situations reported V1.Ru that this meeting took place a long time ago, and Lyubavin himself wrote complaints against his employees, and in response they wrote a statement against him.

According to other employees of the department, the boss forced the employees to transfer salary accounts from one bank to another, from which he could receive benefits. Because of this, discontent was brewing in the main office.

“They said that there [в банке] there was a promotion – something like “bring a friend and get three thousand rubles as a bonus.” Count how many employees we have, and if you register each of them as a friend, then the amount will be much larger than three thousand rubles. We were told that perhaps this is how he received cashback from us,” the words of an unnamed Emergencies Ministry employee are quoted as saying.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations will check Lyubavin’s statements

Local journalists have currently been unable to obtain a comment either from the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations himself or from the department’s press service.

At the same time, State Duma deputy Alexander Khinshtein responded to the news. He said that the leadership of the Ministry of Emergency Situations has been informed about the scandal, and an investigation is currently underway, “based on the results of which the issue of the major general’s responsibility will be resolved.”

The politician also called the official’s words unacceptable for a senior officer and official. “Moreover, all this was said not in a private conversation, but publicly, at a video conference,” Khinshtein noted.
