The WhatsApp messaging app stopped working on smartphones running iOS 10 and iOS 11, on Monday. These phones will not be able to get updates or upcoming features.
The company, “Meta”, the owner of the famous application, said that among the phones that have also stopped support: iPhone 5 and iPhone 5C. According to The Economic Times.
Users must update their smartphones to the latest version of their operating system, if their phones are not under automatic update.
The Whatsapp Help Center also clarified that iPhone users will need iOS 12 or later to continue using the app, or Android 4.1 or later.
To find out your phone’s operating system: You have to go to the settings menu and choose “About phone” to see the version, and if there is an update option available, click on it so that you can continue to use WhatsApp.
