Chihuahua– The state leadership of the Labor Party, confirmed through its leader, América Zapata, that they will contest the election of Ocampo, where the PAN–PRI–PRD candidate Ana María Sáenz leads her opponent Rafael Solís of the Democratic Party with 97 votes. PT, with the lack of four boxes to be counted, which were stolen by armed men.
Aguilar Gil mentioned that they are reviewing inconsistencies, especially the loss of 15 electoral packages of 16 boxes, of which the authorities only recovered 11 and with these votes they prepared the results report.
He indicated that until now they do not have reliable information about what happened to the chain of custody of the ballot boxes or the events that occurred in Ocampo, however, he said that despite the facts and circumstances, the most important thing lies in the respect for the citizen vote.
The president of the state PAN, Gabriel Díaz, announced that they will defend the vote in Ocampo and will present challenges in all the municipalities that they consider merit a review. In Ocampo the candidates for the council were tied, and the Institute must repeat the election.
The counselor of the State Institute, Gerardo Macías, reported that until yesterday’s cut-off at 11:59 p.m., 77 challenges had accumulated to the results of different popular election positions, and they will analyze which ones proceed for the analysis of the State Electoral Tribunal.
