In Season 2 of the The Witcher Netflix TV series we will see the witcher face more monsters than books. The reason? Basically because people liked the fighting in games starring the Witcher, like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, according to showrunner Lauren Hissrich.
In an interview published in the latest issue of Sci-fi and Fantasy magazine, Hissrich explains that in the book “The Blood of the Elves“, on which the second season will be based, in reality there are not many fights with the monsters and that the authors have decided to add them in quantity in the TV series as they are particularly appreciated by those who have played the titles of CD Projekt RED.
“There are few monsters in the Blood of the Elves. There aren’t that many. But we learned from the games that people really like to see Geralt fight monsters, so we kept adding them in Season 2.“says Hissrich.
Obviously, as much as a good fight is always a pleasure to watch, the hope is that the authors do not put too much pressure on the hand, risking distorting the narration of Sapkowski’s works.
Season 2 of The Witcher will debut on Netflix on December 17th, with the third season already confirmed. Three new trailers were unveiled at last month’s Tudum event.
