Barranquilla FC, the promotion tournament team, had all the problems to get to Villavicencio, where this Monday they face Llaneros on the second date of the semi-final home runs.
La Dimayor announced this Monday that the match, which was scheduled for 5:30 p.m. this Monday, was delayed by less than two hours, waiting for the complete squad of the Barranquilla team to arrive in the capital of Meta.
It should be remembered that Dimayor requires, by regulation, that teams playing as visitors must arrive at the host city of the match the day before the scheduled date. However, Barranquilla could not do so due to force majeure.
What happened to Barranquilla? This was the explanation
In a statement, the club explained the situation. “Yesterday, the Barranquilla FC delegation could not reach Villavicencio due to bad weather conditions that prevented the plane in which it was traveling from landing,” he said.
According to that document, The plane made four failed attempts to land, including one in Yopal (Casanare). In the end, the aircraft returned to Bogotá and the flight was cancelled.
This Monday, the team led by Nelson Flórez had to travel in three groups to Villavicencio and the last to land in that city did so at 3:45 in the afternoon, two hours before the time initially stipulated by Dimayor.
Barranquilla asked Dimayor to postpone the match to Tuesday, but the entity denied the request. The game was scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Monday.
“Barranquilla FC wishes to express in a forceful and firm manner our protest and request for fair play, in a way that takes into account the integrity and well-being of the players and the coaching staff, who have gone through extreme and exhausting situations to be able to reach the match and forces us to compete in unfavorable physical and emotional conditions,” the club added.
The situation generated a complaint on social networks from the president of Llaneros, Juan Carlos Trujillo. “@Dimayor, be very careful, they are going to postpone my game at the desk. @ClubLlanerosFc is going to show up to play their game! The rule is for everyone! How could the referees arrive? We are not here for decoration,” he wrote on his account. x.
In its statement, Barranquilla denied the president of Llaneros and said that The match referee, Didier Gracia, from Chicó, was on the same flight as the team on Sunday.
Dimayor: another last minute change
La Dimayor also announced, just minutes before its original schedule, the change of schedule for the game between Atlético de Cali and Cúcuta Deportivo. The match was scheduled for this Monday, at 3:30 in the afternoon, at the Francisco Rivera Escobar stadium in Palmira.
That match even changed scenery: it was played at the Raúl Miranda, in Yumbo, and ended tied 1-1.
