White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki said Biden’s trip to Poland will follow his meeting in Brussels on Thursday with NATO allies, G7 and European Union leaders to discuss international efforts to support Ukraine.
The White House said that the US President will hold a bilateral meeting with Polish President Andrzej Duda upon his arrival in Warsaw.
The president will discuss “how the United States, along with our allies and partners, is responding to the humanitarian and human rights crisis created by Russia’s gratuitous war on Ukraine.”
The New York Times reported that Poland will officially propose a plan to organize an international peacekeeping mission in Ukraine during the emergency NATO summit in Brussels, although the idea contradicts the official position of the alliance.
