Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in statements to Italian media, confirmed his intention to change the political and military leadership in his country.
Zelensky told the Italian public broadcaster RAI yesterday evening, in the wake of reports about the possible dismissal of the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Army, Valery Zalozny: “A reset and a fresh start are definitely necessary.”
The Ukrainian president added that this means “replacing a number of leading figures in the state, and not just in one sector such as the army.”
It is noteworthy that Zalozny, 50 years old, became Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Army a few months before the start of the Ukrainian crisis in February 2022.
