The Minister of Justice and Security of Santa Fe, Pablo Cococcioniwarned that from the police point of view the “event could not have been foreseen” because Bracamonte had been the target of 29 attempts on his life, despite which, “he was with very few self-preservation measures and showing himself and repeating his routines” and “he was prohibited from entry to the stadiums.
The homicide set off alarms in both national and provincial authorities because Rosario has been plagued for decades by the drug trafficking business and clashes between gangs for control of the territory. «It is a striking and worrying fact», admitted Cococcioni.
During the last decade, The city of Rosario has been the most violent in Argentina. In 2014 there was an outbreak of homicides (254) that, with fluctuations, continued until 2023, with 260 victims annually.
