He La Paz University Hospital of Madridthe General University Hospital Gregorio Marañón of Madrid, Hospital Clínic of Barcelona, the 12 de Octubre University Hospital and the Vall d’Hebron University Hospital are the five Spanish public hospitals who top the ranking of the 100 most valuedaccording to the tenth edition of the Health Reputation Monitor (MRS), an independent study of reference in the sector, which announced its awards this Wednesday at a gala held at the Puerta de Hierro Majadahonda Hospital. In 2024, the same centers as in 2023 will repeat in the top 5, with the novelty that the Gregorio Marañón rises from position 3 to 2, while the Clínic falls from 2 to 3.
To prepare these rankings, MRS has carried out 8,912 surveys to specialists, family doctors, directors of pharmaceutical companies, hospital pharmacists, hospital managers and directors, nursing managers, specialized journalists and patient associations.
Also among the top 10 public hospitals are Madrid’s 12 de Octubre, Ramón y Cajal, Fundación Jiménez Díaz and Puerta de Hierro Majadahonda. The top ten are completed by the La Fe University and Polytechnic Hospital and the Virgen del Rocío University Hospital.

In addition to those corresponding to hospitals, the MRS has granted distinctions to 43 clinical services throughout Spain23 of them from centers of the Madrid Health Service (SERMAS): 15 have corresponded to La Paz (Allergology, Clinical Analysis, Anesthesiology and Resuscitation, Cardiology, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Pediatric Surgery, Medical-surgical Dermatology, Internal Medicine, Pulmonology , Neurosurgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Otorhinolaryngology, Pediatrics, Rheumatology, Traumatology and Orthopedic Surgery); 3 to Gregorio Marañón (Hospital Pharmacy, Geriatrics and Psychiatry); another 3 to October 12 (Pathological Anatomy, Intensive Medicine and Radiodiagnosis); and 2 to Ramón y Cajal (Digestive System and Ophthalmology).
In General Surgery and the digestive system, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Neurology, Medical Oncology, the highest distinction has gone to the Vall d’Hebron University Hospital; in Plastic Surgery, the Hospital Universitari i Politécnic La Fe; in Endocrinology and Nutrition, Hematology, Nephrology and Urology, the Barcelona Clinic; in Nuclear Medicine, University of Navarra Clinic; and in Radiation Oncology, the HM Sanchinarro University Hospital.
