81% of Russian parents support the ban of the Russian Ministry of Education on the use of mobile phones in the classroom. These are the results of a survey by the educational company MAXIMUM Education, which Izvestia has at its disposal.
They pointed out that gadgets interfere with the learning process. At the same time, 13% of respondents believe that the child should always be in touch, 6% of respondents have not yet decided on their opinion on this topic.
Despite the fact that most parents support the ban on the use of mobile phones in the classroom, they are loyal to gadgets. Only one in five limits their use and gives the child only for a certain time. At the same time, the majority of parents (58%) monitor the protection of the child from inappropriate content.
In general, more than 60% of the parents surveyed said that they periodically control their child, 36% do it regularly. At the same time, every second parent closely monitors the learning process, and every fifth parent checks homework every day.
Since the beginning of the school year, the Ministry of Education has introduced a ban on the use of mobile phones in the classroom in Russian schools.
However, Rospotrebnadzor explained that the rules to limit the use of mobile phones in school lessons have been in force since 2021 and no innovations are implied.
Leyla Namazova-Baranova, a specialist in preventive medicine at the Ministry of Health of Russia, president of the Union of Pediatricians of Russia, said that the absence of telephones in school lessons would be beneficial for the eyesight and overall health of students.
