It is necessary to completely ban the sale of tobacco to Russians born after 2014. Such a proposal on Wednesday, January 5, was expressed by State Duma deputy Sultan Khamzaev.
According to him, some European countries are working to ban in the future the sale of tobacco products in any equivalent to citizens born after the specified year.
“I think this is the right practice. That is, never sell tobacco to those born after 2014, ”he said. “RIA News”…
The deputy noted that the number of smokers, not only in Russia, but also in the world, is increasing every year. So, according to the federal project “Sober Russia”, in 2020, Russians smoked 280 billion cigarettes.
“The entire anti-tobacco campaign, which is generally taking place in the world, including in Russia, as part of the global market, is more like a“ squirrel in a wheel ”. The wheel is spinning all the time, we are running, and the electricity generated goes to the benefit of transnational tobacco corporations, “Khamzaev said.
He explained that at the same time “new threats are emerging, for example, the so-called snus, aikos, vapes.”
The deputy noted that milder measures should be applied to those who already smoke, and those who did not start smoking, “we must protect.”
On December 26, the lawyer of the European Legal Service Pavel Korytov said that in 2022 the laws regarding restrictions on smoking people will be tightened. So, according to him, fines of up to 3 thousand rubles for smoking will begin to be introduced at real estate objects and enterprises. In addition, responsibility for a fire caused by a smoker will be toughened.
On December 10, Khamzayev proposed introducing a fine for smoking near pregnant women or minors. The deputy appealed to the head of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko with a request to assess “the feasibility of introducing a new provision into the draft edition of the future Code of Administrative Offenses of Russia, providing for a fine of 5 thousand rubles for violating the established ban.”
On December 9, it was reported that the New Zealand authorities will introduce a law banning tobacco smoking for future generations. Thus, for persons who will be 14 years old at the time the law comes into force, it will never be possible to legally buy tobacco. Also, the number of stores that are allowed to sell cigarettes, the authorities plan to reduce from about 8 thousand to less than 500.
