Vice Speaker of the State Duma Neverov: Chilingarov died due to a serious illness
Polar explorer and State Duma deputy Artur Chilingarov died due to a long and serious illness, Deputy Speaker of the Russian Parliament Sergei Neverov said in Telegram.
“His death is an irreparable loss. He will always live in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to work with him, befriend him, and communicate,” Neverov wrote.
He also called Chilingarov a man with an amazing sense of humor, erudition, courage, compassion and a desire to learn new things.
State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin announced Chilingarov’s death earlier on June 1. Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed condolences to the scientist’s family on his death.
