The reform of Parque Sauces, projected in 2017, started in 2018 and halted in 2019, was resumed at the beginning of this year and concluded yesterday with its reopening, almost four years after it was hired for the first time. The mayor, Noelia Arroyo, presided over the act of reopening this space that occupies 4,300 square meters of surface, based on the prehistoric world and that has as its main attraction the figures of several large animals.
Arroyo was accompanied by the deputy mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, who served as mayor when the works began and when it was necessary to change the company chosen at that time due to defects in the execution of the works. Last year she managed to reactivate the project, with characteristics different from the original ones, before Arroyo replaced her as the highest municipal official. “This is a good Christmas gift for children to play in the street,” stressed the first mayor. In addition to having a children’s play area, it also has a space with equipment for physical exercise.
The park has five different dinosaur figures, from herbivores to predators. Among them are a tyrannosaurus rex, a triceratops, a parasaurolopphus and a brachiosaurus. The setting includes tracks of these prehistoric animals, along the paths of the promenade, and a fountain in the shape of a volcano. The definitive phase of the works began in the first half of this year and should have concluded in September or October, but there were problems with the arrival of part of the material. The government team promised yesterday to continue with the reform of all the parks that need it.
