The ministry said the strikes were aimed at preventing “information attacks” on Russia, and urged those close to those sites to leave.
“In order to stop information attacks against Russia, strikes with high-precision weapons will be carried out against the technological infrastructures of the security service and against the main center of the psychological operations unit in Kyiv,” Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said.
“We call (…) Kyiv residents who live near (security) centers to leave their homes,” a Russian defense spokesman was quoted by AFP as saying.
The statements come at a time when the Russian forces, led by them, have doubled their efforts since last week to invade Kyiv.
The Ukrainian authorities accused the Russian army of launching strikes on residential areas in several cities, including Kharkiv (east), which is witnessing fierce fighting. Russia, for its part, ensures that civilians are not targeted.
