The PS5 Slim it’s already real, but before you get excited about the possibility of having a powerful but smaller console, I must tell you that not made by sony.
Matt, who handles the DIY Perks YouTube channelset himself the goal of creating a much smaller version of the Japanese company’s most recent console, and he succeeded.
With a little effort and a lot of money, got his PS5 to be just 2cm thickalthough he applied a few tricks that increase the total space his creation occupies.
How did they make the PS5 Slim real?
Matt explains a lot of things in detail in this video, and one of them has to do with how much space the console takes up for cooling.
To reduce it as much as possible, the youtuber replaced this unit with a liquid systemalso got rid of the case and only kept the motherboard.
Matt made his own water-based cooling system and we must say that he was able to invest a lot more money than the PS5 costsas it used copper plates to make a new case.
Although everything seemed to be going well, his first test was a complete failure and ended up with the console freezing up not working optimally, but that didn’t stop it.
after some changes made a second successful attemptand if you thought that space reduction was the best thing, you should see what its cooling system achieved.
Instead of the 75 degrees that the PS5 usually reaches, according to Gamer Nexus, the Slim version barely reached 65°although this changed in the different components.
On average, this version reduced the temperature by 13%, so performance improved significantly.
Of course, because of the cost, it would not be feasible to build this version, but who knows, once the shortage of components ends, they could surprise us with an official version of the PS5 Slim.
