According to the indictment of the Public Ministry, the individual is considered as the author of the crimes of homicide with the mixed circumstance of kinship and illegal possession of weapons
The Prosecutor asks for 15 years and nine months in prison for the individual accused of killing his father in 2019 in the house they both shared in the Murcian district of Los Garres, according to the indictment of the Public Ministry.
Next Monday, September 19, the jury constitution session is scheduled, although the start of the public hearing will take place on Tuesday, September 20, at 10:00 in the second section of the Provincial Court.
The events date back to September 20, 2019, when the defendant was together with his partner in the house in Los Garres where they had both lived approximately four months ago. In addition, a month and a half before the events, the couple shared the house with the defendant’s father, the owner of the house.
In the early hours of that day, the defendant and his father began a heated argument in the kitchen for reasons that were not well determined. During the same, the individual grabbed his father by the neck and squeezed until he was strangled. All this, with the intention of ending his life, according to the facts considered proven by the Public Ministry.
After strangling his father, the defendant left him lying on the floor, went to the bedroom and took a shotgun with which he shot the victim in the head. Next, he looked for a sack and put his father’s body in it with the help of his partner who, at the time of the events, was in the bedroom of the house. Between them they threw him into a well in the patio of the house, sealing it with silicone.
The defendant later told what happened to a friend, but the friend did not believe the story. However, upon detecting a strong, very unpleasant odor in the house and noticing the absence of his father for several days, the friend reported the facts to the Police through his lawyer.
In addition, the friend took advantage of the fact that he had keys to the house to take the weapon, which he later handed over to the police station. The victim’s autopsy report determines the cause of death as suffocation due to strangulation and head trauma from a gunshot wound. The weapon used was a carbine, although the accused lacked the ownership guide and weapons license required to possess it.
The Prosecutor considers that the defendant – who has been deprived of liberty for this cause since September 28, 2019 – is the author of a crime of homicide with the mixed circumstance of kinship for which he should be sentenced to 15 years in prison. In addition, the Prosecutor also maintains that the individual is responsible for a crime of illegal possession of weapons for which he requests a sentence of nine months in prison.
