The PP of Galicia has approved alone, with votes against the opposition, a work plan for the investigation commission on public procurement Xuntawhich does not include the appearance of the former Galician president and leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo.
The approved work plan is the one initially proposed by the PPdeG with almost 40 appearanceswhich do not include that of Feijóo, nor those of his sister or his brother-in-law, nor that of the partner of the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Diaz Ayusowhich the opposition demanded; but yes that of the former Minister of Health and president of the Catalan Generalitat, Salvador Illa.
Includes the appearance of the current president of the Xunta, Alfonso Ruedaalso requested by the opposition groups, and that of all the Ministers of Health and Finance, among others, both current and previous, including those of the previous bipartite PSdeG-BNG Government.
For the opposition, BNG and PSdeG, this is a clear veto by the majority group in the Galician Parliament, the PP, because has something to hide about the contracts made for years by the Xunta with companies linked to senior party officials, in an attitude that the opposition leader, Ana Pontonhas called “undemocratic”.
The veto denounced by the opposition will prevent clarifying, among other issues, who is responsible for the Xunta de Galicia, through its departments and other institutions of the Galician Administration, awarding –as reported Public exclusively– more than 37 million euros to the Eulen Group since Alberto Núñez Feijóo became President in May 2009, as stated in the resolutions published in the last thirteen years in the Official Gazette of Galicia (DOG) and on the Public Contracts of Galicia (CPG) platform.
Let us also remember that the director of Eulen for the Northwest of Spain is Micaela Núñez Feijóoyounger sister of the head of the Galician Executive, who in 2016 was promoted to that position from the one she held as regional director for Galicia. During the immediately previous year, Eulen obtained its record of awards from the Xunta until then, with 6.2 million euros.
