José Ballesta’s team includes in its tenth project of the year the creation of this advisory body to solve urgent problems of the districts
The PP of Murcia proposed on Tuesday the creation of a council of village mayors, made up of current and former mayors, who would meet periodically to resolve urgent problems. This is one of the measures included in the ‘Murcia Impulsa’ project, the tenth presented this year by José Ballesta’s team and which is focused on the districts.
With this plan, the PP intends to “return management autonomy to the districts” to provide “more tools, budget and management capacity to the district residents and their municipal boards to solve the daily and urgent problems of the neighbors.”
The council of village mayors would be a consultative body oriented that «will promote territorial development, will ensure the balance and the structuring of all districts and districts. This body will mark the strategic lines that we must follow to create a homogeneous city project for the entire municipality.
The PP promises 67 “identity” projects for each district “based on the axes that are aligned with its city model, which advocates sustainability, urban development, conservation and enhancement of heritage and the increase of equipment and infrastructure green”.
Improvements in administrative management
Among the objectives of ‘Murcia Impulsa’ are the simplification of administrative processes, the expansion of the powers of neighborhood councils, budget efficiency, streamlining procedures and processes, and technical assessments. For this, the PP intends to draft a new Regulation of Citizen Participation and Districts to expand the powers of the municipal boards with greater decentralization and management autonomy.
In addition, the project aims to reduce bureaucracy, speed up the processing of petitions and speed up evaluation and study processes. Also expand the powers of the municipal boards in areas such as commerce, revitalization of business activity and social rights.
In addition, the Ballesta team proposes an improvement in the coordination between the Municipal Boards and the different departments, in matters such as street cleaning, public lighting, asphalt paving and replacement, citizen security, public roads, transport, among others, that allow achieving a true efficiency.
“Each district of Murcia has a size, population and identity that makes them unique, therefore, each decision will be adapted to its idiosyncrasies, respecting the principles of equality and equity in the efficient distribution of resources,” explained Marco Antonio Fernández.
