Also that the CHS suspend the application of the restrictions in the Preferential Flow Zones
The Plenary of Lorca approved this Monday initially the modification of the General Plan of Municipal Planning to allow the construction of a health center in the Action Unit 23 of the San Cristóbal neighborhood. The mayor, Diego José Mateos, said that “all the steps are being taken to modify the General Plan in an accelerated and agile way in order to make the site available to the Ministry of Health” as soon as possible for the construction of the building.
He advanced that after the initial approval a period of exposure to the public and for the issuance of reports begins and he trusted that after the final approval of the text the land will be available before the end of the year. The Plenary also unanimously agreed, at the proposal of the PP, to request the Segura Hydrographic Confederation (CHS) to suspend the application of the restrictions in the preferential flow zones until the City Council submits the report in defense of the victims.
The PP spokesman, Fulgencio Gil, said that 1,300 hectares of land in the districts of Purias, Torrecilla, Campillo and Río are affected and demanded that the City Council have the participation of the residents for the preparation of the document. According to Gil, “part of the solution to this problem” is that the CHS allows those affected to use their land by applying corrective measures, as is the case in areas classified as prone to flooding.
The municipal groups also unanimously agreed to name a square in the area of the old fish markets on Santa Clara Avenue with the name of the painter Francisco Salinas Correas. The artist known above all for his precise pens in which he reflected monuments and corners of the city died in 2017 at the age of 93 and a year later he posthumously received the diploma of Distinguished Services to the City.
