Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada from the party “Opposition Platform – For Life” Vadim Rabinovich on his page in Facebook accused Lithuania and Moldova, buying energy resources from Russia, of betraying Ukraine.
According to him, Moldova signed an energy purchase agreement for five years with the Russian “Gazprom” immediately after Ukraine “gave” it one million cubic meters of gas. At the same time, Lithuania bought energy from Russia, although before that “it urged Ukraine not to do this”.
On October 27, Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller and Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Spinu held negotiations for the terms of a new contract on the supply of Russian gas to the republic.
Moldova faced an energy crisis and was forced to enter a state of emergency due to gas shortages. The country has ended its contract with Gazprom – in October, the agreement was extended for a month. While the parties could not agree on the price, Chisinau also refused to recognize the debt to Gazprom.
