Disagreements between the parties on any of the points break an agreement that was closed since last week
They had everything ready after months of work. They had managed to put together a great contract that would make them partners and also the promoters of a new Real Murcia that would put economic problems aside after a decade of hardships, embargoes and extreme situations, but finally the agreement has blown up .
The last seven days have been key in the deterioration of a commercial relationship that at the end of last week seemed firm. In fact, last Thursday, November 17, they ate at a well-known restaurant in the capital of the Region and at the end of the event they shook hands and sent the snapshot to all the media. They were summoned to sign the agreement a week later, in the office of the lawyer Andrés López, before proceeding to a public signing for the shareholders that would take place at the meeting.
But in the week that both took to polish the contract, without further ado, everything has gone to waste. The current president of Real Murcia informed the Cordoba businessman that he did not agree with several points of the pact and that he intended to reform some of them. But Moreno, at first, did not accept. And although he took a few hours that turned into days to think about it, he has communicated to Ramos a decision that he had made since Friday night.
In their last meeting, an informal meeting that they both held in a place in Plaza Santa Catalina in Murcia on Friday afternoon that replaced what was to be the official signing of the pact, Moreno began to assimilate that his entry into the club in the shareholder meeting would be complicated. He went to Madrid after his appointment with Ramos and consulted everything that had happened with his family, although his opinion did not change: he was not willing to throw away the work of recent months and accept last-minute changes. . Neither Ramos, who was in Castellón accompanied by Antonio Pedreño and José Manuel Sánchez, his trusted men, was predisposed to the agreement or convinced of what was agreed in the previous weeks with the former owner of Leganés.
One last conversation, but alone
Moreno had made the decision to step aside yesterday, but the fact that Ramos traveled in company to Castellón forced the final communication between the two to be left for the last hours of the day. But the defeat of the grana team in Castalia influenced everything to be settled this Sunday morning, in which the pact between Moreno and Ramos has been definitively broken.
Now in the future of Real Murcia there are again dark clouds, although Ramos is determined to take the grana club to professional football without Felipe Moreno. This is what his trusted managers tell him. But the Murcian fans wonder if the lawsuits and demands will return to the news of a club whose outlook is no longer so exciting, and who is going to pay the public administrations. What remains to be seen is what will happen at the imminent shareholders’ meeting on Tuesday or Wednesday, which was going to be a party, the beginning of a new stage, and which now looks very hot.
“This brings us back to square one”
Felipe Moreno sent a statement late this Sunday in which he recounted that the option of entering the shareholding of Real Murcia reaching an agreement with the current owners meant “respecting the work that both the current and previous boards have done.” Moreno highlights the work in recent months to reach an agreement with Agustín Ramos, but, according to his version, “when everything was very advanced, new discrepancies have arisen that make it impossible to sign.” A situation that, from his position, takes him “back to the starting box and ruins many meetings and hours of work.”
On the other hand, it also points out that it has not executed the purchase option of the shares of the Mexican businessman Mauricio García de la Vega, who owns 84% of the Grana club, since “it does not make sense for him to do so as long as he has not entered into the shareholders of the club, either through a capital increase such as the one that was proposed for the meeting on November 29 or that there is a final judicial resolution in its favor ».
Finally, the former owner of Leganés regrets that the negotiation process with the current president of Real Murcia “has not ended satisfactorily” and therefore he cannot be present at the shareholders’ meeting to be held next Tuesday.
