The richest man in Mexico, Carlos Slim Helúmade a clear demarcation regarding the gray six-year period of Lopez Obradorbut also of its presidential candidate and the 4T in general. His words should not be taken lightly, since his fortune represents nothing more and nothing less than 6% of the Gross domestic product from the country.
Slim addressed various topics. He said that the economy can grow much more, as long as there is a government strategy that promotes public, private and external investment, to reach 30% of the GDP. There is economic activity, but it is driven by the favorable economic situation in USAmostly. The Mexican government is paralyzed.
He commented that there is excess media confrontation and this generates instability and uncertainty. In addition, there is an excess of soldiers in charge of companies and public activities. He referred to the fact that the companies are too regulated, that their participation in public works has been quite limited, and that in general he has not received benefits from the Amlo government.
Slim seeks to remove the label of a spoiled businessman from the current six-year term. That is why he distances her from him and points out that he has differences and cordial discussions with López Obrador, but he will discuss them once he has concluded his government.
But Slim's position is also an exhortation for other Mexican businessmen to adopt a critical stance towards the federal government. It is to be expected that a cascade of demarcations will soon begin. Various productive and social sectors have to draw a red line with respect to the López Obrador government. It has turned Mexico into a true institutional disaster.
The government itself is destroyed, and has lost operation and efficiency. The ministries of State lost are paralyzed, have excess staff and lack a budget. Public institutions are eroded, beaten in the media by the President himself, and live with uncertainty regarding their immediate future.
So, it is worth asking: When will the demarcations of other businessmen begin? Here in Sinaloa, when will we listen to the strong business groups that until now have remained silent? Society misses the critical attitude that for years gave presence and prestige to organizations such as CAADES, agricultural and livestock associations, Coparmex, Canaco, Canacintra, and multiple productive organizations that once raised their voices loudly to criticize the government with any pretext.
Everyone has maintained a complicit silence in the face of widespread deterioration. But Slim already set the example. Sinaloa businessmen will also have to paint a strong red line before Q4. They will have to step forward and reject the decisions that suffocate their businesses and deteriorate the living conditions of their workers. Today is the right time to make this urgent demarcation.
