The judge of the National Court José Luis Calama has admitted a complaint filed by the businessman investigated in the alleged pyramid scam of Madeira Invest Álvaro Romillo against the MEP Alvise Pérez for the crime of illegal financing of political parties for having received 100,000 euros to finance his campaign election to the European Parliament.

In an order, the magistrate offers the MEP, given his status as a certified person, the possibility of appearing in the proceedings and testifying voluntarily in court on November 20, as well as providing documents, proposing investigation proceedings and participating in the investigation. of the cause.

As revealed by elDiario.es, the ultra agitator Luis ‘Alvise’ Pérez developed a relationship with Álvaro Romillo, leader of a financial investment club and businessman in the cryptocurrency sector, to the point that the then candidate for MEP participated in a act to promote its platform, now defunct, Madeira Investment Club. In those conversations, Alvise commented on his financing needs and Romillo ended up offering to collect 100,000 euros in hand, in cash and in black at his offices in Madrid.

The then-candidate went to the headquarters of Romillo’s company and collected the money, as he himself later admitted. The case came into the hands of the Prosecutor’s Office when the businessman’s financial club went bankrupt and he himself communicated the circumstances to the Public Ministry, recounting his relationship with the current MEP and this delivery of money. Alvise ended up acknowledging that he collected the 100,000 euros in cash but stating that they responded to some type of freelance work that, to this day, he has not detailed or proven.

The Prosecutor’s Office referred the case to the Department of the Public Ministry in the Supreme Court, a court before which Alvise Pérez is seated due to his status as a MEP, but finally sent this information to the National Court, where there is already an open case for the collapse of the financial club. from Romillo.
