YouTube has revealed the lists of the most viewed on the platform. From songs that defined the soundtrack of our daily lives and themes that accompanied the Shorts most viral, to content creators who conquered the public during 2024.
For the first time, the trends that generated the most conversation on the platform were also included, expanding the vision of what captured users’ attention this year.
In 2024, the interests of Mexicans were marked by topics such as sports, native YouTube entertainment and even the country’s presidential elections. The democratization of digital content has not only empowered fandoms, making them active participants, but has also redefined what is popular and what is trending for users in Mexico.
In the creators section, Fede Vigevani reaffirms his position as the main creator in Mexico, achieving first place for the second consecutive year, in 2023 and 2024. For his part, the Mexican regional consolidates its impact with a record presence in the list of most popular songs: 9 featured songs. Among them, artists such as Xavi, a rising figure, the collaboration between Natanael Cano and Óscar Maydon, and Peso Pluma, who not only was the Top Artist of the Year, but also propelled the genre to new heights, shone. The first place on the list is occupied by Julión Álvarez, reaffirming the hegemony of the Mexican regional in the musical panorama.
Top trending topics in Mexico
The trending topics give us a look at the interests of the Mexican community, which stands out for being passionate about sports, with four positions related to sports events and video games, especially related to soccer. On the other hand, topics such as anime or the launch of Deadpool and Wolverine have generated a lot of interaction, until reaching events of national relevance, such as the presidential elections which are located in fifth place. Another phenomenon that we can observe is the growth of animated series native to the platform that experienced exponential growth inside and outside of YouTube, such as the case of Amazing Circus.
