The Murcia City Council has decided to stop the mobility works on Avenida de la Constitución from Holy Thursday until Monday, April 17, to facilitate the celebration of Easter and Spring Festivals. The rest of the segregated bus and bike lane works continue “as normal”.
Likewise, the Consistory announced that work on the new roundabout is expected to begin this week, which will be located at the intersection between the Ronda de Levante and Avenida Juan de Borbón.
The new roundabout, which seeks to ease traffic congestion in the area, will have four lanes and will exit traffic at the intersection of Juan de Borbón and Ronda de Levante. Vehicles will be able to join directly from Plaza Juan XXIII, without having to cross the tram tracks, thanks to the change of direction of a section of Avenida de La Flota.
The initial works will consist of the signaling of the work, to later undertake demolitions of medians, ditches / pipes and paving. There will be a specific impact on traffic due to the different phases of execution of the work.
In addition, on the occasion of the Holy Week processions and Spring Festival parades, the affected areas of works will be delimited and correctly signposted regardless of their status (in progress or finished).
