Although he had come to Colombian football with a good background, Jonathan Álvez did not have a lucky time in the league of our country.
The Uruguayan attacker arrived at Junior de Barranquilla in 2018, from Barcelona de Guayaquil, but could barely score two goals in 22 official games, including the local League and Copa Libertadores.
After six months, Álvez went to Internacional de Porto Alegre and then returned to Ecuadorian Barcelona, from where he returned to the country, this time to play for Atlético Nacional.

Álvez left Colombia and changed teams this year
His balance with the greens was a little better (10 goals in 49 official games), but he finally left Nacional to join Unión de Santa Fe this semester.
Alvez made his debut this Saturday with his new team, against none other than River Plate. And the Uruguayan was the protagonist of one of the most resounding errors of the match, sending a ball over the goal that seemed ready to leave it inside the goal and give Unión the advantage.
Finally, Unión defeated River Plate 1-0, with a goal from Mauro Luna, from a penalty, in the 58th minute.

In River, Juan Fernando Quintero played his first official match after his return from China. He was replaced at halftime in the match. It should be remembered that the other Colombian who was part of the squad, Jorge Carrascal, went to CSKA Moscow.
