Lego and the Piaggio Group they presented a Vespa 125 brick format, which will be part of an official set sold by the famous Danish toy manufacturer. The LEGO brick model, which will be available from the first day of March, is packed with details, such as the bouquet of flowers in the basket on the back, the spare wheel, the removable engine hood, the handlebar with steering wheel and the kickstand. The pastel blue hue is a nod to the era of the economic boom, the 1960s; but in this specific case it is a relatively new color for Lego. Furthermore, for the first time in Lego history, a wheel consisting of two colors appears: black for the rubber and white for the inner part of the tire.
“Working with the Piaggio team to create this two-wheeled masterpiece was an incredible experience! The design part of the set that impressed me most was the reproduction of the details of the original model, an opportunity to celebrate the classic Vespa of the 1960s. In the conception phase, this model took me back in time, inspiring my imagination and creativity. We hope the experience is the same for the fans!”Said Florian Muller, Senior Designer of the LEGO Group.
A twin model of the LEGO Vespa 125 in 1: 1 scale, made by LEGO Certified Professional Riccardo Zangelmi, will hit the streets of Milan for Fashion Week. From 25 February until 3 March, the model with the bricks will be present in the so-called Pop Up in via Monte Napoleone. This is a choral project that also involves the LEGO Store in Milan San Babila, in Corso Monforte, which will always host Zangelmi for a live building on 25 and 26 February (hours: 11.00 – 19.00). The artist will make a helmet (wearable!) And a spare wheel in 1: 1 scale. Finally, from 25 February to 3 March, the original Vespa 125, granted by the Piaggio Museum, will also be on display in the shop. From 4 March then, the 1: 1 scale model, including helmet and spare wheel, will “turn on” the engines to start its journey around Italy: first stop, the LEGO Store in Turin, until 30 April.
