GameSpot is back with a new one video of his series dedicated to Weapons of video games. In this case it's the turn of The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered. Leading the presentation as always is Jonathan Ferguson, weapons expert and Keeper of Firearms & Artillery at the Royal Armories.
In the videowhich you can find below, presents Abby and Ellie's military pistols, the bow, a semi-automatic pistol, the bolt-action rifle, the flamethrower and other guns that appear in the game, including a rifle from the Lost levels.
Ferguson explains for example that the Ellie's military pistol it is worn out, which is natural given the setting, but at the same time it is not worn out in a realistic way. There are also some elements, like welds, that are strange: not impossible, but they serve no practical purpose. As often happens, in fact, the developers' objective is that the weapon is beautiful to look at and seems interesting, not that every detail is (sometimes boringly?) realistic.
Among the weapons we also talk about the flamethrower and Ferguson explains that there is a quality detail: when you shoot, initially some liquid comes out that has not yet caught fire. It's an element that many players probably won't see, but it's still included and shows attention to detail.
The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered
The Last of Us Part 2 weapons video obviously it doesn't arrive at a random moment, but shortly follows the release of the remaster version which immediately became a success in Europe. For example, The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered is the best-selling novelty in January 2024 in the UK.
The advantage is probably also linked to the fact that those who already own the game must invest only 10 euros for the improvements of the PS5 version, the new roguelite mode and the additional narrative content of the Lost Levels.
