The main convict, linked to large plantations of ‘maría’ in chalets in the Region, had a “high lifestyle” despite not working
The judicial delay finally reduced the sentences to five relatives who admitted before the Provincial Court to have laundered money from drug trafficking. The defendants, although they faced penalties of between six and two years in prison, have finally been sentenced to between two and five months in prison after they reached an agreement with the Prosecutor’s Office and the mitigating factors of undue delay and late confession were recognized.
The Hearing, in its ruling, explains that the case suffered delays not attributable to either the defendants or the complexity of the procedure. Specifically, it specifies that it suffered stoppages for periods of nine, eight and seven months.

The main convicted person is Enrique AC, who has already been arrested and sentenced on several occasions for directing important marijuana plantations in chalets in the Region. The defendant and his partner, despite not having known jobs, had “a very high lifestyle, with independent vehicles, branded clothes or outings,” as the sentence indicates.
His partner, the Brazilian Lucilene AS, did not work in anything known between 2008 and 2012. She covered her living expenses –more than 5,000 euros a year– and half of her son’s with the money obtained by her boyfriend from drug trafficking . He also sent money to his country to pay for a mortgage. The couple allegedly laundered 161,698 euros from drug trafficking. The sister and brother-in-law of the main defendant have also been convicted, albeit with lesser penalties.
