The judge urgently summons the key businessman in the Koldo case after he asked to testify voluntarily

The judge of the Koldo case, Ismael Moreno, has summoned businessman Víctor Aldama for next Thursday, whom the investigations of the Koldo case place as the epicenter of the alleged corruption plot. Moreno has arranged the statement for this week after Aldama’s lawyer requested the voluntary statement. His client is currently in provisional prison for another cause, known as hydrocarbon fraud.

In the document presented in court this Monday, the lawyer warns that his client will answer all the questions asked by the judge, the Anti-Corruption prosecutor and the defense itself, but not those asked by the popular accusations. In any case, Judge Moreno has issued a summons order in which he invites the popular accusations to attend the statement.

Víctor Aldama is the businessman who managed to enter the Ministry of Transportation through Koldo García and reach the former minister José Luis Ábalos. With the sale of masks to the public body alone, Aldama pocketed more than 5 million euros in an adjudication procedure where the judge saw evidence of several crimes.

A businessman partner of Aldama, also arrested in the hydrocarbon fraud operation, is behind the acquisition of a villa in Cádiz that José Luis Ábalos enjoyed, according to the investigation. Aldama himself paid 32 monthly rent payments for an apartment in the center of Madrid to a partner of the former Minister of Transport.
