The sister of the King began her visit to the city this Friday responding to the invitation of the Brotherhood
The Infanta Doña Elena began a visit to Caravaca de la Cruz this Friday. The Infanta arrived shortly before five in the afternoon and she was received by the older brother of the Brotherhood of Vera Cruz, Luis Melgarejo, and some representatives of the Board of this religious institution. At seven in the afternoon she attended the Eucharist in the convent of the Nuns Claras, whose ceremony was officiated by the episcopal vicar of the Caravaca-Mula area, David Martínez, and the prior of the Carmelite fathers, Fray Pascual Gil. At the end of the mass, Doña Elena approached the fence that separates the closing area of the convent to share impressions with the nuns.
Among those attending the Eucharist were also the representatives of the three delegations of Cáritas de Caravaca, at the express wish of the Infanta, who wanted to know first-hand the actions that this humanitarian organization of the Church carries out in the three parishes of the location.

Next, Doña Elena shared a pleasant chat with the members of the Representative Board of the Brotherhood and with the Municipal Corporation in the inner courtyard of the Casa de la Cruz, headquarters of the religious institution.
The visit will continue this Saturday morning. From ten o’clock she will be received by the mayor of Caravaca, José Francisco García, at the Town Hall, and later she will sign in the Consistory’s book of honor. Then, around half past ten, he will go up to the Basilica of Vera Cruz, where he will be able to prostrate himself before the Sacred Relic in its chapel and sign in the Brotherhood’s book of honor.

The program will conclude with a tour of the House-Museum of the Horses of Wine; a moment that has aroused great expectation among horsemen since Doña Elena has held the title of Honorary Amazon of the Bando de los Caballos del Vino since 1990, the date on which she accepted the appointment.
