The chief general of the Military Emergency Unit (UME), Javier Marcos, assured this Saturday, in a press conference at the Ministry of Defense, that he deployed the first troops to respond to the isolated depression at high levels (DANA) in the province of Valencia on October 29, the day of the disaster, at 3:41 p.m. “Anticipating official orders,” he stressed, ruling out that the response of the Armed Forces was not long in coming, as has been criticized by certain social sectors.
