1000 Dalmatians: the Green Island embraces the footballers of the future
The “Manlio Selis” World Tournament – Le Coq Sportif Cup reaches its 27th edition and for the Sardinian tournament a growth path continues that has been going on since 1997 under the guidance of patron Enea Selis. Le Coq Sportif will be, also for 2024, the main sponsor of the tournament, covering all the staff who will manage the event scheduled on the Gallura fields from 24 to 26 April. There are 40 under 14 teams that will participate in this edition: there will be Italian and foreign teams, representing both professional and amateur clubs. Some of the most prestigious Italian clubs were present: Inter, Milan, Juventus, Roma, Atalanta, Genoa, Cagliari, Fiorentina, Empoli and Parma. There is also a large foreign representation with Espanyol (Spain), Az Alkmaar (Holland), Panionios (Greece) and Galatasaray (Turkey).
For the first time, two teams wearing Le Coq Sportif will also participate: these are Nice (France), which is surprising in Ligue 1 this year and Talleres of Cordoba (Argentina), the first South American team ever to participate in the tournament. An additional testimony to the closeness of the main sponsor to the event, a partnership that goes beyond simple sponsorship agreements and which also materializes in these synergies.
“I believe that the “Manlio Selis” is a truly unique tournament, not only for its structure, unique in the world, but for what it is able to reveal: it is a window overlooking the future with new champions, new generations, new languages, lifeblood for a Brand like Le Coq Sportif. I am really enthusiastic about the work done together with Enea and his team because this year, in addition to many new features to make the tournament even more international and visible, we managed to bring two teams linked to our brand: Nice and Talleres Cordoba . We intend to focus on this tournament again because our marketing strategy is based on the concept of Glocal, i.e. global attitude with local storytelling and Selis perfectly embodies this spirit” declared Andrea Baracani, Marketing Manager Le Coq Sportif Italia.
Great news also on the communication side: for the first time the races will be broadcast live thanks to a partnership with Veo Technologies. There will be total live streaming coverage through follow-cam technology, powered by artificial intelligence. Through a single tournament link, people, after registering via email, will be able to access the list of all the live matches. Furthermore, attention to social media is growing with the partnership closed with “Cronache di Spogliatoio”, a community born on social media but also regularly registered newspaper, which has over one million one hundred thousand followers and the highest engagement rate in Italy among sports communities, an additional ally who will amplify with its unmistakable style the beautiful stories that the “Manlio Selis” offers every year.
