The mayors of each municipality will have to adopt the measures they deem necessary to contribute to energy savings
The Minister for the Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge, Teresa Ribera, has assured that in the central government “we have no intention, we did not do it in August with the ornamental lights, we are not going to do it now, to limit or prohibit Christmas lighting » and has been sure that the mayors will find solutions for energy savings and efficiency.
In statements to journalists in Malaga, Ribera pointed out that the saving and efficiency effort “is important to come from the different actors” and recalled that the “most important” measures, that is, “the reduction of what we call redundant consumption , which is the one that does not affect our quality of life in public spaces”, were already addressed in the decree law of August 1.
But he has said that “there are many more things that we think can be facilitated and channeled and this has been expressed by the different actors who have sent us their proposals to continue promoting this saving and they have also done so by explaining, I think it is pertinent to recognize it like this , that in each space at the municipal level they will look for the best solutions».
In this sense, he pointed out that the mayors “will find answers to boost efficiency, to look for alternatives or to responsibly facilitate a space to enjoy these endearing festivities that it has cost us a lot to enjoy after a few hard years as a result of the covid and be able to reconcile it”.
Ribera has influenced the context “in which everyone has expressed their willingness to channel savings into their own municipal consumption and also channel support to those who have more doubts about how to carry out these savings actions, especially small businesses”, which, has said, “sometimes you feel clueless” or unaware of the help available thanks to the recovery plan.
