The Government of Spain “respects in a very clear and forceful way what more than 130,000 people said yesterday in the streets of Valencia.” This is what the Government delegate, Pilar Bernabé, said after the Cecopi meeting on the protest held in the capital and in which the majority called for the resignation of the president of the Generalitat Carlos Mazón.
Bernabé added that Valencian society is “torn by pain, and we can only listen to them because it is our political and moral obligation, for them and for the tens of thousands of people who are suffering.”
Regarding the subsequent incidents and the police charges, he states that the demonstration “was largely peaceful, where tens of thousands of people transmitted their pain.” And the balance of the police action has been recalled, which resulted in 4 arrested, 13 identified and 31 police officers injured.
Previously from the Generalitat Valenciana, the popular Carlos Mazón, had expressed his respect for the “pain” expressed by the thousands of protesters and added that he preferred not to classify the incidents that were recorded as the term that, in his opinion, “they do not deserve the victims nor the Valencian people.”
