“Stranger things”, the popular Netflix series, was characterized from its first season by including several references to some of the most famous movies of the 70s, 80s and 90s. From the name of its chapters to the development of its plot, the show always includes elements of great classics such as “ET”, “X-Men” and “Nightmare on Elm Street.”
In this note we review the best winks that the popular production created by the Duffer brothers took, which will soon premiere its fourth season.

“The Goonies”
The story of a group of children as protagonists is perhaps the strongest inspiration that the Duffer brothers have had. The plot begins just as “The Goonies” would, with a group of little ones who get into an unexpected adventure.

“X Men”
Throughout the series we discover that Eleven is not the only girl with powers and that she is probably the most powerful of the group. Something reminiscent of the story of Jean Gray in “X-men”, where the heroine joins the group of mutants and unleashes all her strength.

“ET”
Another of the clearest references is the resemblance between Eleven and ET The wig, the pink dress and the escape of the boys on bicycles are just a few examples. In the second season, she goes trick-or-treating on Halloween dressed as a ghost, just like Elliot does with the alien in Steven Spielberg’s film.

“The Exorcist”
Horror movies were also key in the vision of the Duffer brothers. When Will Byers is invaded by the Shadow Monster in the second season, his cold attitude with a lost look and his attacks when he tries to take the entity out of him are very reminiscent of “The Exorcist”.

“Nightmare on Elm Street”
For this fourth season, the creators of the series asked the actors to see the movie “Nightmare on Elm Street”, a tape in which the horror icon Freddy Krueger appears. Robert Englund, the same actor who brought him to life in the original films, will also appear in the series.
