We are facing an era in cinema in which films that do not have a 100% commercial proposal are being taken more into account, and this has been demonstrated with some films that are worth admiring in the following years. One of them is none other than 2073which has a dramatic documentary approach that draws attention. In fact, its first trailer has recently been released and it shows a lot of the ambition that the production team has.
The film is under the leadership of Asif Kapadiaa British film director and screenwriter, known for his acclaimed documentaries and for his work in narrative cinema. Born on 12 April 1972 in London, Kapadia has gained recognition for his distinctive directorial style, which often combines innovative filmmaking techniques with deeply human narratives.
Here is the video:
This is the synopsis of the film:
It tells the story of Ghost, a man who lives in isolation in a New San Francisco, a city controlled by libertarians, dictators and technocrats. In this dystopian future, freedom has been eradicated, dissent is brutally repressed, and constant surveillance controls every aspect of life. The film uses an innovative combination of archival footage and drama to explore the threats that could define our century: the collapse of democracy, the resurgence of neo-fascism, the climate crisis and the technological invasion of our lives.
For now, the film does not have a release date, but it is mentioned that it will hit theaters sometime in 2024. It will become the most attractive proposal, at least if we talk about independent cinema.
