PlayStation has posted a ten-minute video featuring members of the Naughty Dog team.
Nobody knows what happens with the remake of The Last of Us specifically but, after leaking the announcement of its presentation in the past Summer Game Fest, this week naughty dog has seen how a leak of gameplay and scenes that should not have come to light spread across the internet.
Several graphical comparisons are shownPerhaps that is why PlayStation has rushed to publish the extensive video with gameplay that heads the news, the first focused on the gameplay after the presentation trailer. In it we are shown many parts of the game and there are several graphic comparisons with the remastered version released in the previous generation with this new version destined for PlayStation 5.
At the same time we see all these scenes with Joel and Ellie (there are parts of the Left Behind DLC, but no new area or extra addition to what we already know is observed) responsible for the franchise as Neil Druckmanco-president of the study, the creative director and writer Shaun Escayg or the game director Matthew Gallant explain us more about the work that the team has carried out.
What stands out the most is the evolution in the animations of the characters, with a strong focus on the face animation of them, where a notable improvement is observed both in kinematics and in the parts where we have control. Also, confirm that can be played or to a resolution Native 4K and 30fps or Dynamic 4K and 60fpswith extras.
ensure that there are more realistic physics than at the time, with more elements that interact with impacts or with bullets now being able to destroy specific objects on the stage, and the transition from cinematic to gameplay has also been retouched to make it completely smooth.
The AI of allies and enemies has been improvedThe artificial intelligence of the characters has been improved to make them more believable and realistic. One of the main criticisms of the first installment is that Ellie was exposed while accompanying us and the game ignored her presence, but in the remake they say that the allies cover themselves better to avoid lines of sight and the enemy NPCs behave more authentic.
DualSense, modes and accessibility
Naughty Dog has again insisted that The Last of Us remake will feature DualSense controller support in the form of haptic feedback on the triggers when we shoot, in addition to benefiting from other PlayStation 5 features, such as 3D audio, which will help us know where the infected are lurking or from which area the shots are coming from.
From the Californian study they affirm that they have worked on several requests from fans of the saga, which has resulted in the inclusion of the permanent death mode, another speedrun-focused mode, and a host of unlockable skins for Joel and Ellie. Along with all this, the game adds over 60 accessibility options and a new audio description mode to ensure the experience is rewarding and inclusive for all player profiles.
This remake of The Last of Us, called The Last of Us: Part I, has its release date set for september 2 of this year, when it will arrive on PS5 with different editions. Later it will do the same on PC, although for this version there is not a day marked on the calendar yet.
