The fire generated in a straw area of a shantytown area was put out by firefighters without any animals being harmed
The Fire Extinguishing Service of the Cartagena City Council put out, on Monday night, a fire that burned an area of stables in a shantytown area at the entrance of Las Lomas del Albujón. There were livestock there, especially horses, which could be saved from the fire.
The flames began shortly before midnight in various sources of the environment, according to local sources. Large amounts of straw were scattered there, used by the owner of the sheds for the animals. The collaboration of the neighbors was essential to help the flames not escalate.
The fire was finally extinguished by a fire truck, without spreading to the inhabited areas of the town. There were no personal injuries and no animals were injured, but the fire did cause considerable material damage.
