The film 'Back to Black', which tells the story of Amy Winehouse through the artist's own eyes and includes, among its characters, the London neighborhood of Camden, where she lived, premieres this weekend in the United Kingdom.
The feature film about the life of Amy Winehouse directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson ('50 Shades of Grey') was filmed in the streets and canals of this district of London, which, according to the filmmaker, “It was part of Amy's life and destiny.”

For the producers, it was key to record the film there, where, according to music producer Giles Martin, beauty and decadence continue to coexist: “I think it represents what Amy felt; “I like that she dreamed of Carnegie Hall and Ronnie Scott's, but deep down she was a Camden girl through and through.”
Always present
Although in Spain we will have to wait until May 31 to see the film, if you visit the British capital it is possible to visit some of the places in the life of one of the most emblematic stars of the 21st century.
This is what the Egea couple Amelie and Renard Timothe did, who, from France, traveled to visit London and took the opportunity to take a photo with a mural of the artist.
“Every time I use eyeliner I remember her,” Amelie told EFE. in reference to the singer's characteristic makeup.
Sales student Maxime Loisel also traveled to the British capital from the French country, who, while walking through Camden Town, took a photo with the bronze commemorative statue of Amy Winehouse, created by Scott Eaton in 2014.
He recognizes Amy Winehouse, whose voice he admires, as “a relevant person in Camden”, highlighting, for him, some of his most popular songs, such as 'Rehab' or 'Back to Black'.
Emblematic places
Another representative place in the artist's life is The Hawley Arms pub.. There she sang some of her songs in 2010, in an unexpected performance after two years without performing on stage, as the BBC published then.
Just behind it, there is a large mural in which the London singer is represented in graffiti signed by the artist JXC.
The House of Amy Winehouse at number 30 Camden Square also became a place of worship for the singer's admirers, where offerings in tribute to the artist still remain around one of the trees in front of her former home.
On the walls of the entrance there are also numerous lipstick marks in the shape of kisses, next to messages such as “Rest in peace, dear”, “I love you, Amy” or “A kiss to heaven”.
Additionally, throughout the neighborhood, many artists have wanted to leave their particular tribute in the form of street art, such as on the corner of Bayham Street and Pratt Street, on one of the tall walls in front of Nemesis Tattoo on Stucley Place, or one of the under the Camden London Underground Bridge, at the entrance to the market.
Celebrating your talent
With only two studio albums, 'Frank' (2003) and 'Back to Black' (2006), which propelled him to stardom with five Grammy Awards and 16 million copies sold, Amy Winehouse was received as a great revivalist of soul, which he mixed with jazz, R&B, blues and ska influences.
However, while his music was receiving the highest praise, his problems with drugs, alcohol and his eating disorder led him into a spiral of self-destruction, pursued by a relentless tabloid press.

The film 'Back to Black' sets itself the challenge of removing the London singer from the shadow of the tragedy of his early death from alcohol poisoning at age 27, and celebrate his talent and musical legacy.
