The Feminist Movement of Murcia organizes a “critical feminist demonstration” in the capital of the Region for next March 8, in order to commemorate International Women’s Day. Specifically, the mobilization will begin at 7:00 p.m. and will depart from Plaza de la Fuensanta to continue along Gran Vía until its conclusion in Plaza Martínez Tornel.
As explained by the Feminist Movement in a statement, the “justification” for this action lies in the fact that “we are in a patriarchal system that makes women and LGTBIQ+ people endure additional oppression to that endured by other people.”
Thus, it indicates that «every day the feminist struggle has to be present in our lives in private and in public: ‘the personal is political’, we maintain, but there is a day when our voice joins the world, going out to the street in each town, city and country around a date, the 8M, the 8th of March».
From the Feminist Movement they affirm that the objective is to “give a voice to the most vulnerable people, the most downtrodden who are crossed by other added repressions, those who endure wars, prisoners, migrants, racialized, trans, sex workers, precarious pensioners, mothers beaten by Justice».
Other actions for the 8-M
