The famous interior designer Lorenzo Castillo has been in charge of shaping Grassy’s first men’s jewelry collection. The capsule collection named ‘Lorenzaccio’, “It is born from the passion that the interior designer feels not only for the art of jewelry, but also for other disciplines such as architecture, history and decorative arts«, they explain from the emblematic jewelry store, assiduous in collaborating with artists from different fields in the creation of its pieces.
A collection of rings, pendants and bracelets that have in common the reference to classical antiquity, from Egypt and the Greco-Roman inspiration Renaissance for its symmetry and contained geometric shapes. In contrast to this classicism in form, they are pieces full of color with shades such as coral, eggplant, orange, green and purple, blue or burgundy, among others. Shades that play a leading role in the collection. “Thus, in the Cosimo ring, we witness a true delirium when the green tourmaline is mixed with the fired enamel ring, in a studied disorder that highlights both the sugar-loaf cut stone and the green martelé gold,” explain from Grassy.
Lorenzo He confesses that the chromatic inspiration came to him thinking about the gardens of the Renaissance and of Baroquewhere a multitude of colors from different flower species were superimposed on the masses of green. And, just as nature did not follow an aesthetic pattern, some of the pieces in the collection, such as the Greco bracelet with its multicolored cabochons, neither does it.
There is an influence of eastern worldof yin and yang, of the box and the oval, of the abstract and the figurative. While on the other hand, some of the pieces, such as the pendants, are endowed with great modernity due to the studied selection of stones and the sought-after play of veins. Also for the texture mixesusing transparent and translucent stones such as tourmalines, amethysts, aquamarines and other hard stones such as lapis lazuli, malachite, tiger’s eye jasper or heliotrope where the colors intermingle with the inclusions of the natural stone. Gold settings have been used to provide shine and light, in a very simple way, like a frame that highlights the color of each stone, without stealing an iota of prominence from them.
