The ex-nuns of the Monastery of Santa Clara de Belorado (Burgos) They do not regret the decision to leave the Catholic Church and they affirm that “it is worth it” even if they risk eviction, pending the oral hearing that was going to be held in December but which was suspended due to the lack of notification to two of the former religious.
In a video sent by Francisco Canals, the press officer of the religious community, which shows a conversation with Sister Paloma (Susana Susana Varo), the former Clarisa has admitted that although the situation they are experiencing is painful, it is not they regret it and every time They are more convinced of the step they took last May.
“We are suffering a lot, but every day we are more certain of the step we have taken. We do not regret it because it’s worth it“, he stated: “If they take everything from us, let them take everything from us. We have found everything,” while ensuring that they have the energy and friends to start again.
Sister Paloma hopes that it will not become necessary make use of the offer of their homes on the part of these new friends, but he has also insisted that “they are not alone”, that there are more sedevacantists, in other parts of the world but also in Spain, and makes a call to “form a group because the company is needed.”
Notifications completed
The lawyer for the nuns of Belorado, a community that also includes Derio and Orduña, has confirmed that the notification of the admission for processing by the Court of First Instance and Instruction No. 1 of Briviesca of the eviction lawsuit presented by the archbishop of Burgos has already been given to the two former religious earrings.
The titular judge decided, a few days before the oral hearing scheduled for December 19, to suspend it since two of the ten excommunicated nuns they had not been notified. There are eight of them left in the religious community, who live with the five older ones who are not excommunicated, but two have moved to the convent of Orduña, hence the delay in notification.
Now, the court must once again point out date for oral hearing, after which the judge must resolve the eviction lawsuit filed on September 16.
Florentino Alaez, the lawyer for the former religious, has explained that they are studying the possibility of requesting the accumulation of processesto process, together with the eviction lawsuit, the one filed by the community of nuns, and also admitted by the same court, against the archbishop of Burgos for his right to voluntarily separate from the Catholic Church.
Of course, he has indicated that the Archbishopric has 20 business days to answerand taking into account the Christmas period, which is a non-working period, this second procedure can be extended in time.
New rejection by the Interior of civil associations
On the other hand, the lawyer has already received a response to the appeals filed against the decision of the Ministry of the Interior to reject the registration of the civil associations with which they intend to transform the communities of Derio and Belorado, a response that rejects said appeals.
However, they have also appealed the registration of the archbishop of Burgos, Mario Iceta, as pontifical commissioner of the communities, and after three months without a response, they have presented a contentious-administrative appeal through the protection of rights fundamentals, which they hope will be admitted.
