The one told in the manga is a story full of mystery and crime, based on the novel of the same name by Yukito Ayatsuji and which winks at the classics of Agatha Christie.
The protagonists, seven university students enrolled in the yellow club of their institute, decide to spend a weekend on a desert island, where a terrible crime had taken place six months earlier and remained unsolved. Once on the island, the boys settle in a bizarre decagonal-shaped building but, very soon, they are targeted by a mysterious killer.
Meanwhile, on the mainland, Akira Kawaminami receives a letter signed by the man who designed the decagonal house, which everyone considers dead …
Will the protagonists be able to stay alive and solve this terrifying mystery?
THE DECAGON HOUSE MURDERS tells a dark story suspended between two worlds, which prompts the reader to become an investigator and to ask himself who is actually behind this seemingly impossible thriller.
Among the characters, numerous and all clearly distinguishable from each other by personality and physical characteristics, doubt creeps in strongly, as the crimes take place. On the other hand, suspecting each other is inevitable when the killings take place in an uninhabited place far from the rest of the world. The tension is getting higher and higher, and it is natural to ask “who will be next? “.
Finally, the aura of mystery that pervades the whole story is perfectly rendered by Hiro Kiyohara’s detailed and sensual drawings. The wilderness that grows on the island appears menacing and hostile, as if foreshadowing that something terrible is about to happen.
