In Ukraine, the daily incidence of COVID-19 has decreased. This was reported on Saturday, December 18 in the Telegram channel of the country’s Ministry of Health.
It is noted that on Saturday 7,503 new cases of the disease were recorded, 18,534 people recovered, 328 died.
“Over the past day: 2,018 people were hospitalized; lethal cases – 288, recovered 18,534 people, ”the ministry’s telegram channel said in a statement.
According to the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, 42,544 people received the first dose of the vaccine, 94,358 people were fully vaccinated, and 60 people received an additional dose.
During the entire time of the pandemic, 3,604,549 people fell ill in the country, 3,324,999 people recovered, and 92,929 deaths.
According to the Ministry of Health, since the beginning of the vaccination campaign, 14,355,540 people have been vaccinated, of which 14,355,538 people received the first dose, 12,919,024 people received the full course of vaccination, and 74,000 people received an additional dose.
On December 16, scientists identified the category of people with the highest titers of antibodies to COVID-19. The results of the study showed that the highest concentration of antibodies after suffering COVID-19 is observed in elderly patients.
According to the medical director of the Helix laboratory service Dmitry Denisov, age is one of the determining factors affecting the level of antibody concentration. In particular, the specialist stated that the antibody titers in men who easily underwent COVID-19 decrease on average 60 days after recovery, while in women who have easily recovered, a positive dynamics of the level of antibodies is recorded.
The authors of the study also found that by the 45th day, antibodies are formed to their maximum values, they remain in such a concentration on the 60th day, and in general they keep at least up to 180 days after the disease.
