After the parenthesis of the pandemic, on March 5 this test known within Murcian mountaineering as ‘The Classic’ returns to the Caravaca sports calendar
The Crossing of Resistance ‘Sierras del Noroeste Murciano’ celebrates its twentieth edition on Saturday, March 5, with all registrations complete. The test, known as ‘La Clásica’ for keeping its original essence intact and for being the first mountain competition in the Region of Murcia, returns to the Caravaca sports calendar after the parenthesis caused by the pandemic.
The mayor of Caravaca de la Cruz, José Francisco García; the General Director of Sports of the Autonomous Community, Fran Sánchez, and the Councilor for Sports in the Consistory of Caravaca, Pepe Tudela, have participated in the presentation of this journey organized annually by the Adenow Sports Association, currently chaired by Alejandro Medina.
José Francisco García thanked «the commitment and involvement of the Adenow Club, for which several generations of Caravaqueños have spent the last thirty years promoting mountain sports with the utmost respect for the environment and valuing the numerous natural resources that we have on this earth for its practice».
The Crossing of Resistance ‘Sierras del Noroeste de Murciano’, whose participation places were sold out three days after the opening of the term, is a non-competitive event, which changes its route every year. On this occasion, on the occasion of its twentieth anniversary, the layout of its first edition will be recovered. The participants will cover a distance of nearly fifty kilometers along paths, landscapes and mountains, guided at all times by members of the organization.
The crossing, with a duration between 12 and 2 pm, will start at dawn, specifically at 03:30 am on Saturday, March 5, from Caravaca to the Calar de la Santa district of Moratallera.
